Center for Breakthrough Research "Information Technologies in Medicine" (CPI "IT-medicine")

At the end of 2013, by decision of the interdepartmental working group for the development of world-class research centers in the field of information technology, a decision was made to create a Federal Center for Breakthrough Research on the basis of Samara State Medical University, specializing in the development of medical systems based on simulation, cognitive technologies and augmented reality technologies . The selection was carried out by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the Ministry of Communications of Russia among 130 applications from more than 100 scientific organizations and universities as part of the implementation of paragraph 2 of the list of instructions of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation dated December 27, 2012 No. DM-  P8-7980on the launch of a pilot project for the creation and development of world-class research centers in the Russian Federation in the field of information technology.

In accordance with the decision of the Academic Council of the Samara State Medical University and the order of the rector dated  04/01/2014 No. 332, the Center for Breakthrough Research “Information Technologies in Medicine” (CPI “IT in Medicine”) was created at Samara State Medical University, which is a continuation and confirmation of the high status of the university in the formation of a new scientific and innovative direction — information technologies in medicine.

CPI “IT in Medicine” specializes in the development of diagnostic and rehabilitation systems based on virtual and augmented reality technologies, artificial intelligence, educational products for universities and enterprises in the real sector of the economy and the search for methods that generally improve the quality of medical care.

Organizational structure of the CPI
