Samara State Medical University for the first time entered the world ranking of universities Impact Rankings 2020 according to the authoritative British magazine Times Higher Education

In London, on April 22, at the international online conference “What lies ahead for higher education in the future after COVID-19 ?”, Conducted by the reputable rating agency of the British magazine Times Higher Education, the results of the annual global university impact rankings – THE University Impact Rankings 2020 were announced. This rating evaluates the contribution of each university to the process of sustainable world development, defined in the 17 goals of the UN.

 

This year, 857 universities from 89 countries applied for participation in the ranking. The analysis included 806 universities. Russia is represented in the ranking by 47 universities. Topped the world ranking table of the University of Auckland (New Zealand). Samara State Medical University took part in this rating for the first time and entered the 601+ category in the global Overall Ranking.

 

In addition, THE rating agency ranked universities according to each of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals . Samara State Medical University was presented in five nominations for the following sustainable development goals:

 

— Ensuring health and promoting well-being. Out of 620 universities from 80 countries, Samara State Medical University entered the group of top 200 universities in the world (category 101–200). Among 39 Russian universities participating in this nomination, Samara State Medical University took the fifth position.

 

— Ensuring gender equality. 547 universities from 81 countries of the world participated in the nomination. Samara State Medical University entered the category (301–400).

 

— Promoting sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. The ranking includes 479 universities from 80 countries. Samara State Medical University entered the category 401+.

 

— Building a solid infrastructure, promoting sustainable industrialization and innovation. The rating includes 494 universities from 71 countries of the world. Samara State Medical University entered the category (301–400).

 

— Partnership for sustainable development. The ranking includes 806 universities from 89 countries. Samara State Medical University entered the category (601+).

 

In addition to Samara State Medical University, the rating also includes the Samara National Research University. Academician S.P. Korolev .
