Achievements of Samara State Medical University

2021 – Samara State Medical University won the competition for the creation of centers of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) on the end-to-end technology “Bionic Engineering in Medicine”.

 

2021 – Samara State Medical University became the winner of the Priority 2030 university support program . The university became the owner of the basic and special grants of the program. Annual financing will amount to more than 1 billion rubles.

 

2021 – Samara State Medical University strengthened its position in the Times Higher Education ranking, entering the 601-800 category in the Global Overall Ranking. Among Russian universities, Samara State Medical University took the 28th position in the ranking.

 

2021 – Samara State Medical University received the status of a federal innovation platform.

 

2020 – Samara State Medical University took 43rd place among Russian universities in the ARES-2020 international ranking . The activities of the university were rated in the A + category (high quality of performance).

 

2020 – Samara State Medical University for the first time entered the world ranking “The University Impact Rankings 2020” according to Times Higher Education in the category 601+ in the global standings, and in the category “health and well-being” out of 620 universities, Samara State Medical University entered the group of top 200 universities peace.

 

2020 – the university became the winner of the competition of leading research centers (LRC) with the project “Virtual and Augmented Reality Technologies”.

 

2020 – Samara State Medical University took 46th place in the ranking of the hundred best universities in the country according to the RAEX rating agency, among medical universities Samara State Medical University was in fourth place; in the ranking of demand for universities out of 50 medical higher educational institutions, Samara State Medical University took the ninth line; took 94th place in the international rating of research organizations Scimago.

 

2018 – 39th place among Russian universities in the ARES ranking; President of Russia Vladimir Putin presented the President of Samara State Medical University, academician Gennady Kotelnikov with a badge of distinction “For mentoring”.

 

2017 – 41st place among Russian universities in the ARES ranking; according to the results of the competition announced by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, Samara State Medical University was recognized as the university center for innovative, technological and social development of the Samara region; laureate of the national competition “100 best educational institutions of the Russian Federation-2017”; seven educational programs of the university are recognized as the “Best educational programs of innovative Russia”.

 

2016 – according to the results of a study conducted by LLC “Statekspert Research Institute”, Samara State Medical University was awarded a commemorative wall medal and a diploma on the inclusion of Samara State Medical University in the Register of Laureates “The Best Universities of the Russian Federation”. Samara State Medical University has successfully passed the quality assessment and entered the international ranking of universities ARES-2016.

 

2015 – the training and production center for simulation training of the Samara State Medical University was accredited by the “Russian Society for Simulation Training in Medicine” and was awarded the 2nd qualification level; coordinator of the scientific and educational medical cluster “Nizhnevolzhsky”, which includes six universities.

 

2013 – entered the ranking of the best universities in terms of the quality of admission.

2012 – the best training center in the Russian Federation.

 

2010, 2011 and 2012 – included in the registers “National Quality Mark”, “Leading Healthcare Institutions of the Russian Federation”.

 

2009 – Samara State Medical University received the International Quality Certificate ISO 9000:2001.

 

2007 – the university becomes a laureate of the international award “Profession – Life” in the nomination “Medical Educational Institution of the Year”.

 

2005-2006 – Samara State Medical University was chosen as one of the experimental sites for the modernization of quality assurance systems in higher education; the international league of strategic management, based on the results of work in 2004-2005, nominated Samara State Medical University to receive the Russian award of public recognition – the “Alexander Nevsky Medal”; received a diploma “European quality” for the high level of educational programs; the university was awarded the INSAM Gold Medal for Management Quality (Russia – Switzerland); the university became a laureate of the UN International Prize .

 

2004 – according to the results of the rating of the independent fund “European Quality”, Samara State Medical University is among the 100 best universities in Russia, continuing to maintain this title, and within the framework of this competition, University staff received the awards “Best Scientific Book of the Year” (monograph by G. P. Kotelnikov, A V. Yashkov “Gravity Therapy”) and “The Best Textbook of the Year” (textbook by V. A. Kurkin “Pharmacognosy”).

 

2003 – Samara State Medical University, among six Russian universities, was admitted to the Association of European Universities; and also received the Golden Lion award in the nomination “Enterprise of the 21st century”.

 

2000 – Member of the European Student Exchange Program.

 

1999 – Member of the International Association of Medical Universities in Europe.

For the first time in Samara State Medical University

1913 – for the first time in Russia, the Samara Pasteur Station was awarded the Gold Medal for its activities (Professor Akker M.I.)

 

1956 – for the first time in the USSR, a microsurgical operation was performed to treat children with congenital glaucoma (Professor Eroshevsky T. I.)

 

1960 – the first domestic tonograph for diagnosing glaucoma was invented (Professor Nesterov A.P.)

 

1977 – for the first time in the USSR, the textbook “Eye Diseases” was published (Professor Eroshevsky T.I.)

 

1991 – for the first time in Russia, the Faculty of Higher Nursing Education was opened

 

1993 – for the first time in Russia, the textbook “Medical Radiology and Radiology” was published (Professor Korolyuk I.P.)

 

1994 – for the first time in Russia, teaching began at a medical university in the specialty “Family Doctor”

 

1997 – for the first time in Russia, the textbook “Gerontology and Geriatrics” was published (Professor Kotelnikov G.P. with co-authors)

 

1997 – the first Russian-British monograph “Organization of General Medical Practice” (Professor Galkin R. A.)

 

1999 – Samara State Medical University was the first Russian medical university to be admitted to the International Association of European Medical Universities

 

2004 – for the first time in Russia, the textbook “Pharmacognosy” was published (Professor Kurkin V.A.)

 

2004 – for the first time in Russia, the Center for Gravitational Therapy was created and is functioning (academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Kotelnikov G.P.)

 

2006 – for the first time in the Samara region, a successful kidney transplantation was performed (Kidney Transplant Center Clinic of Samara State Medical University)

Hall of Fame

The university staff has great respect for the employees and graduates of our university, who have made a great contribution to the development of the university, the training of medical personnel and medical science. By the decision of the academic council, the regulation on the honorary titles of the university was approved: “Honorary Professor” and “Honorary Rector”. The most outstanding graduates are sincerely proud of the title “Honorary Graduate” awarded to them.

 

For a great contribution to the development of domestic medical science, 8 employees of the university were awarded the high title of laureate of the State Prize of Russia, 9 – the title of laureate of the Government of Russia, more than 30 – the title of laureate of the Provincial Prize in the field of medicine. 

 

University graduates in different periods of the country’s life were promoted to leading positions in health care and medical science. Among our graduates there are outstanding scientists and practitioners known throughout the country: Ministers of Health of the USSR G. A. Miterev and Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Professor I. N. Denisov, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation V. I. Kalinin.
